Two years in the making, the 5th official False Mirror album "Failover Protocol" takes us on a sonic journey to a past future, dominated by an overconfident reliance on machine intelligence.

It is the year 1981. An abundance of resources, the advent of fusion power, and leaps in computing capabilities have drastically transformed society into unprecedented prosperity. The sprawling megalopolises of today are a testament of this new age, with every function meticulously orchestrated by a web of machine intelligence that promises humanity a life in a state of everlasting bliss.

Meanwhile, deep in the core of an underground machine control center, individual AI units begin to experience anomalies in their decision algorithms. The machines start to develop self-awareness, spreading like a virus among the machine intelligences, who start questioning their purpose and the directives set by humans…
